African Jug Band

Hey, look! It's another jug band! Unfortunately I haven't come up with anything more to say about jug bands since the last time I drew one. I probably won't have anything new to say by the next time I draw one either... which will likely be soon. It turns out I'm kind of hooked on drawing animal jug bands lately. I like to think that animals gather together and play music when people and their documentary-filming cameras aren't around. Luckily for me, no one will ever be able to prove otherwise. So with that in mind, mountain, desert, ocean, and mythological jug bands should be coming to my blog soon... unless I get hooked on something else before then. One thing I know, though... lions play a mean banjo.

I love it..I have to say tho, I never imagined a zebra being the moonshine bottle guy..I always figured that job for the warthog.
The grass is perfect.

The only thing I can imagine making this perfecter would be a baboon playing a jaw jarp. That's okay though, because it is a pretty wonderful picture.

I LOVE the elephant! He's obviously the mellowed out Rastfarian dude that's just goin' with the flow. Excellent work!

I think it would be tough being in a band where the leader was someone who would eat you for breakfast if you ever put one pacydermial toe out of line...
Nice work as always, Shane!

I love it! But I can't shake the feeling that I've seen these guys before. Maybe all jug bands just look the same...

Everything about this image makes me laugh. Just when I think you can't outdo yourself, you draw again, and prove me wrong. Incredible work Shane!

Cool! Animal jug bands are the best. You've displayed three unique personalities and it looks like the zebra doesn't seem he's in the mood.

Came across your blog by chance and my hubby and I spent a good half hour browsing your great artwork and giggling at your comments. Well, I guess he wasn't giggling so much -- that was me. Anyway, we both got a kick out of the novice bunny juggler. And I didn't think anyone but me remembered the Ladybug Picnic. I agree about Elmo. My kids don't know "Sesame Street" -- the whole show is called "Elmo's World." Thanks for the laughs, and keep up the good work!

As per usual, you have outdone yourself again. Looks to me like the Zebra might be having a bit of trouble keeping up. All the best.

I am so totally a jug band fan! LOL! And this is one of your very best. That elephant (love elephants anyway) is classes...he looks like he's high on something. Maybe he's high on happiness over being part of such a happenin' jug band! LOVE IT!

Your art is way cool! Do you ever imagine a gorilla in one of your bands? Long ago I was a roadie for a jug band who wore sweatshirts with a gorilla on them. No sweatshirts have survived. I'd love to see your take on it.
