NBA Playoffs

I haven't had time to draw anything lately because, much to my wife's dismay, I'm way too interested in the NBA Playoffs. I plan to get back to drawing again when we get into the later rounds and there aren't two televised games each night. Until then, visitors to my blog and my wife are going to find me very boring. Sadly there's no escaping that.

  1. Good heavens... Usually I love your commentary, but I had to keep slapping myself to stay awake this time. I think it's all the sports enthuasist trading cards you've attached with the text. Go, Dr. J!

  2. I have to ask...do you really have their autographs or did you "borrow" them from the web? Either way still cool

  3. Yeah, these are mine. I have a whole book of them... these are just some of my favorites. I used to send cards to my favorite players all the time when I was a kid. I've been told that the cards are worth nothing if they're signed, but they're worth something to me, so I don't care.

  4. how can they be worth nothing?! isn't a signature a boost in worth?...like that one movie with the babe ruth signed baseball! Shane, they're wrong. :D at least to me- And that, as you know, means a fortune haha....ha...ha...

  5. I too am an NBA Final Widow.....so I feel your wife's pain! ;-)And P.S. Weird...you would think they would be worth MORE if they were signed. Don't quite get that logic.

  6. The cards themselves by price guide value will be worth less than before, but people will pay more because they are autographed. Not that I'd get rid of any of them, those are way cool.

  7. I don't speak to my wife on Sunday afternoons for four months every year because of football. Your plight has fallen on sympathetic ears.

  11. Thanks for the comments, everyone. Sorry my blog's dead lately. I actually even have a finished thing I need to post, but I haven't had time to write anything about it. I'll get to that soon, I hope.

Boni... I use Illustrator just for the "live trace" after I've drawn and cleaned up the drawing with pencil and ink by hand. I'm not very good at Illustrator stuff. All the coloring is done in Photoshop, which is how I've learned to get around "painting."

  13. I discovered the same thing when I took one of your drawings and signed my name to it. Worthless.

  14. That's a great collection of NBA signature cards. I remember owning all of those except Ginobli and minus the signatures. LOL.

Are you kidding about the pricing? I'm scared to ask how much that Jordan card goes for, especially on Ebay? You are the man for keeping them in great condition.
