Greatest Hits

I haven't drawn anything new for my blog in a while, so I made this collage instead. I'm consiering it my "Greatest Hits." Just like bands who have disappeared for a while but want everyone to remember they still exist, I'm repackaging some old material and hoping you're willing to pretend it's "new." And just like a "greatest hits" album has one new song thrown into the mix, I've added one new drawing to this that has never appeared on my blog before. Maybe finding it will be a fun way to keep everyone busy until I get around to posting something that's actually new. It's like "Where's Waldo" if you had no idea who Waldo was or what he looked like. Fun!

Thanks for coming to my blog... hopefully something new will be on the way soon. If not, I'll just move a few pigs around on this thing and post it again. "Greatest Hits: Volume 2." Sweet.

  1. Most greatest hit albums are the same way. They tell you that they've added a brand new song, but you can't quite figure out which one it is...is it the screaming raccoon? I'm not sure if I've seen that one before...I love your work!

  2. What about "Feathered-beret-wearing pimp?" I love that one from the early days. If you don't put it on Vol. II I'm never visiting your blog again.

  5. What a feast for the eyes! I'm afraid I have no idea what the new track is, I thought it was the frog. Your work is the best!

  6. Shane, you seriously should publish an anthology sometime. You're an excellent writer, and your art only amplifies the humor. I say "publish" because I think you should aim at the reading world, and not necessarily the drawing world. We artists are too lazy to read most of the time.

Shoot, i get letters from the IRS, BYU, and my mother, and It always takes me a week to get around to reading 'em.

I just wanted to tell you how much I love your blog and look forward to your posts! I love disney/pixar films, but nothing can beat the original, classic disney cartoons. I love that your art is most like them! Thanks for keeping my favs alive!

  8. I say the either hatless frog or the huggy bears are the new drawings. If not, I guess I'm a jerk for not remembering them. I love this. I'm glad you did it. It's on my desktop.

...and just like a picky fan I'm going to express outrage that battle gator appears to be missing. I see a gator there in the collage, but he looks much more likely to hand me a brightly colored balloon than to stick me with a shiv.

  10. You're "consiering" it? LOL! FAB...Love the greatest hits. Funny thing.....my eye automatically went to John Denver! LOVE those big specs!! Here's to the MANY greatest hits of Shane Lewis....looking forward to many more! Don't stress about not keeping up.....my own life is a blur right now as well. Sometimes I feel like my head is swimming. "Head swimming?" Hmm...I bet you could come up with a good drawing for THAT one. Hope all is well on the homefront. Looking forward to your next creations!

  17. I see two new ducks... a gray one on the right and a green one on the left. Those I know for sure are new.

  18. Frog, stage right (between the walrus, the gorilla, and the drowning kid. Am I right? What's my prize? I mean aside from the knowledge that I'm a Shane Lewis Scholar?

Incredible work Shane. I may take a page from Seth's book. So many great characters all in one image.

I like the more expressive and lively outstretched arm and head position of #2, but the face of #3. That is definitely the very best face by a long shot.
