I've heard that a lot of kids I know and some I don't have been drawing flying pigs for the last little while because of a video I made. I feel that there is a limit to how much winged pork you can draw in a lifetime, and while I fortunately haven't reached that point, some of these poor kids did weeks ago. Since they don't know how to draw other stuff, they're still cranking out pigs. To keep them from burning out on drawing completely, I put this new video together. Look, kids! You can finally draw something else! I wish I had used a darker pencil… something for me to remember when everyone's sick of drawing hugging bears and I have to make a new drawing video. Hey, kids - DON'T hold your pencils like this! It works just fine, but the resulting ridicule never ends.
I'm disappointed in you. At the rate you drew that bear, you should be outputting a lot more than you do. Very interesting!
ReplyDeleteCan I get the agency where you found your hand model?
i know that hand!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletedood these always rock and i can watch em for days. Thank you sir for sharin once again as it is a huge treat Shane!
Oh wow...how is it that you do not erase at all?
ReplyDeleteGreat sketch!!
Amazing video as always, you're a great inspiration. I enjoyed the music selection as well ^_^

Visit Andy's Animation!
the music rocks...I can't believe no one has mentioned that yet!
ReplyDeletemy daughter draws even more than I used to as a kid and she has quite the callous on one of her little fingers- something I remember pretty clearly from being that age but I was wondering- did you ever get blisters or callouses from drawing like that?
I love the video- I'd love to see many more- except could you somehow include how you do this on the computer? I know I know- go to school- they teach ya there...but you just can't bring your kids along.
my word verification is the best one I've seen yet! they asked me to type in "OOGOY!"
oops, I missed Laura William's comment...she's with me on the music.
ReplyDeleteand this time I get to type "gwuga!"
Stunning work Shane! Nice synchronization with the music too! Look forward to more vids like this! - You could make your own how to draw dvd and become mega rich?!
ReplyDeletehey man can you do a video on your coloring i think thats the most interesting part.....
ReplyDeleteIt's almost like you're a professional at this or something!
ReplyDeleteFantastic video, Shane! I love videos like these, everything's all roughed out.
ReplyDeleteI love it when people watch me & others draw & they think "What the heck is he drawing?", & as time goes on they realize what it is & their struck by it completely offguard.
The coloring part, short as it was, was absolutely amazing. I can't color anything, because I'm too impatient & I'm partially colorblind. But from pencil sketch to finished product, with all the highlights, shading, shadows & such, it's an absolute thrill!
Music was great, too!
cute bear!! Love the Potter piece below!!
ReplyDeletelove the vid!! keep them coming! i'm learning so much from you! =)
ReplyDeletelove your works!
oooh I love this!
ReplyDeletewhat an awesome idea! Nicely done Shane.
Yep, i'm one of those kids who could only draw pigs as i eagerly anticipated your next 'how to' vid! sooooo glad i can draw bears now ;) thanks a million!
ReplyDeleteThis is Doug, I don't believe in remaining anonymous. That is also how I hold my pencil. And I typed this message using only four fingers, which is how I type everything.
ReplyDeleteFor some reason, listening to that music made me giggle. LOL! And I love how the music TOTALLY went along with the very end of the clip....awesome finale! The drawing is killer as always. Love watching the process. Heck...you could post these every day and I would sit and watch them. It's so cool to see the master at work! Love it!
ReplyDeleteNice
ReplyDeleteWow, You draw really fast, and color even faster.
ReplyDeleteI wish the coloring part went a little slower because that looked interesting.
Nice talent, I can learn from your lines how to be a stenographer artist with meaningful apt for the purpose lines. I really enjoyed watching the vid!
ReplyDeleteI wish you more artistic perception!
This is so freaking adorable!
ReplyDeleteAhh, fun video! And don't worry - I hold my pencil like that too! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Shane! Just wanted you to know that your newest fan just so happens to be my talented son, Lewis! He LOVES this website and the you tubes! Thanks for entertaining my kid!
