Who's the New Guy?

Twelve days ago, we reached a high temperature of only 52 degrees. Today we got up to 81. I don't mean to alarm you, but that's an increase of nearly 2.5 degrees a day. If these warming trends continue... and buckle up for this... it's going to be an unseasonably warm 572 degrees by Christmas. And if it's that hot here, you can bet that our polar bear friends to the north are going to find themselves in the same miserable situation that has been facing European beverages for years: no ice. At that point, it's fair to assume that the world's remaining polar bear population will have no other choice but to migrate south. And on that day, people will finally stop telling me that "polar bears and penguins live on opposite sides of the planet, so this drawing doesn't make sense." Finally... a reason to support global warming.

  1. You know, I had never thought about it that way. Thanks to global warming the vicious ongoing segregation of polar bears and penguins can finally end! I'm glad that you're around to think of the upsides of these important issues.

  2. Love his costume, and the fact that only one penguin is smart enough to question Mega-Penguins existence. Personally, I think I'll join him. 572 degrees is a bit warm for my tastes.

    You amaze me Shane.

  3. Wait till I show this to all my arctic biologist friends (of which I have many). They are going to get so mad and then punch me.

  4. Your thoughts are always funny!!
...And some are concerning important issues like the global warming, but I'm commenting this to tell you that your blog is great. Love the expression of the characters, the colours, the Disneyesque style.
You should make a book some of these days with all this stuff!

  6. Great to have you posting regularly again, Shane! And not a moment too soon! Now I have something to do indoors while the 572 degrees of joy incinerate my neighborhood ;)

Ironic... mother says that I waste my life away inside on the computer; won't she be surprised to see Jimmy not surviving 10 minutes in the weather of Christmas hell.
