Dogs vs Cats (In Color)
I drew this in March, but I threw some color on it today because it seemed a nice fit for this week's Illustration Friday topic: Opposites. Dogs and cats both walk on four legs, and they're both pets, so I guess they're not too opposite... but they're as different as cats and dogs. Man, that was lame.
you really nailed the character of each with the facial expressions... I've always imagined that look of disdain on my cat!
ReplyDeleteI'm a fan of the original pencil art, but I'm quite happy with how the color turned out, too.
ReplyDeleteYou're right. Cats ARE better than dogs!
i love the characters, great!
ReplyDeleteYou have a nice strong character design.
ReplyDeleteGreat illustration work, I love it.
Wait ! Wait ! Lemme do the super psychic bit and read that cat's mind...
ReplyDelete"Hmmm. Could use some Listerine and a Tic Tac..."
Ta Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaa !

HA ! HA !! Cool coool fun characters!! Love it!!
ReplyDeleteVery good...love the splash of green in the background.
ReplyDeletevery nice blog! I like your style
ReplyDeleteI thought this was marvelous as a pencil sketch, but with color it's amazing! Love the look on both the Dog and the Cat, I've met both personalities and I'd rather have a goofball dog than a distainful cat.
ReplyDeleteGreat characters, wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteThe design and expression at the cat is priceless.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great drawing Shane. The shapes and expressions are spot on.
ReplyDeleteMy cat's name is CatMattix (like Dogmatix from the Asterix cartoons/comics...never mind). I like him a lot, but every time he looks at me I can tell he's thinking "If I were bigger, I'd eat you."
So... you wouldn't be the same Shane Lewis that grew up in Sandy, would you?
ReplyDeleteWell since it turns out that you are that same Shane, hello!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes wonder whatever happened to people I used to know. I remembered something lame I said to you in 6th grade the other day. Sorry 'bout that.
these characters have grat expressions ! very cool !
ReplyDeleteGRAT! I told you to sit down! Sit. Down. Now.
ReplyDeleteThat's it!
